FAQ
Who cares about ugly fruit?
Every year approximately 20 billion pounds of fruits and vegetables get left on farm fields, often because they are not "perfect enough" on the outside. Meanwhile, 1 in 6 kids do not have enough food to eat, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. Just because produce looks a little different doesn't mean that it should be thrown away. The food we save can help feed more people in need.
We say, befriend ugly fruit! Each fruglie purchased will help provide fruit and other food to Chicago-area kids through partnerships with The Greater Chicago Food Depository and the City of Evanston. To date, we have provided nearly 6000 meals through our supporters!
Have an idea for a fruglie?

How are these made?
Originally, each fruglie was handmade in Evanston, IL by Dylan and her team (aka mom). As word spread and more people wanted fruglies, we needed to partner with some pros to make the fruglies so that we could build more awareness of ugly fruit and help provide even more kids with fresh fruit in their lunches. Each fruglie is unique and handmade in small batches-- delivered with love, care, and oodles of squishiness.
